On June 5, Huntsman sold its Azeglio-based automotive aftermarket unit, Gomet, to Trelleborg Group for €42.5 million (approximately $50 million), subject to customary post-closing adjustments.
The unit, acquired in 2014 through the Rockwood acquisition, manufactures molded rubber and thermoplastic automotive aftermarket components and generated about €24 million in revenues in 2025.
Huntsman plans to channel the entire sale proceeds into reducing outstanding borrowings, thereby strengthening its balance sheet and potentially lowering interest expenses.
The divestiture streamlines Huntsman’s Polyurethanes division and reflects ongoing portfolio optimization to focus on higher-margin core businesses.
