Hycroft Engages RESPEC for Underground Silver Study, Expands TSF Capacity
Hycroft Mining has engaged RESPEC to assess underground mining methods, conceptual designs and schedules for its high-grade Brimstone and Vortex silver systems, including an exploration decline to boost drilling efficiency and lower costs. WestLand’s engineering work expanded tailings storage capacity and Ausenco’s economic initial assessment is expected by Q2 2026.
1. Underground Mining Assessment
Hycroft Mining engaged RESPEC Company LLC to review underground mining options at its Brimstone and Vortex silver systems. RESPEC’s scope includes evaluating mining methods, conceptual mine designs and schedule development, with findings to guide potential early production strategies.
2. Exploration Decline Evaluation
The company is evaluating development of an exploration decline starting just 30 meters below the Brimstone open pit. This decline would enable direct underground drill access, improve drilling efficiencies and reduce both time and operational costs.
3. Tailings Storage and Economic Study
WestLand Engineering completed additional lift designs on the tailings storage facility to accommodate increased mineral resources from the February resource update. With this capacity secured, Ausenco Engineering South USA will finalize an economic initial assessment by Q2 2026.
4. Junior Gold Miners ETF Inclusion
Hycroft Mining has been added to the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF, reflecting its expanded resource base and enhanced visibility among institutional investors focused on junior gold and silver producers.
