Hyliion Targets $200M Data Center Opportunity with Fuel-Agnostic KARNO Generators
HYLN•Hyliion expects over $200 million of its $400 million revenue potential to stem from AI data center power solutions, with active negotiations underway with hyperscalers and Fortune 500 firms. Its fuel-agnostic KARNO generator, acquired for $37 million in 2022, can deploy on-site using natural gas, diesel and alternative fuels.
1. AI Data Center Focus
Hyliion sees over half of its $400 million revenue potential coming from AI data center deployments, with the CEO in active discussions with major hyperscalers and Fortune 500 firms to integrate its KARNO generators into large-scale computing facilities.
2. Fuel-Agnostic KARNO Capabilities
The KARNO generator, acquired from GE Additive in 2022 for $37 million, operates on natural gas, diesel or alternative fuels such as hydrogen, propane and ammonia, offering low emissions, reduced maintenance and on-site power generation.
3. Commercial and Defense Diversification
Beyond data centers, the company targets commercial power markets for the remaining revenue potential and maintains a separate military pipeline, which the CEO views as a strategic safety net against fluctuations in AI infrastructure demand.
