IBM•IBM and Google Cloud unveiled a new practice combining IBM Consulting Advantage with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise platform, leveraging thousands of certified IBM consultants to deploy AI solutions. The collaboration targets a multi-billion-dollar market and delivers industry-specific AI agents across banking, government, retail, telecom, energy, insurance and life sciences.
1. Strategic Practice Launch
IBM and Google Cloud have launched a new Google Cloud Practice designed to accelerate AI adoption and core system modernization. The offering merges IBM Consulting Advantage—its AI delivery platform—with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and data security tools, supported by thousands of certified IBM consultants. This joint unit targets a multi-billion-dollar opportunity in cloud services and provides clients with an integrated framework for designing, building and deploying production-grade AI solutions.
2. Industry-Specific AI Agents
IBM is creating a suite of industry-specific AI agents powered by Gemini Enterprise, tailored for banking, government, retail, telecommunications, energy, security, insurance and life sciences. These pre-built agents automate workflows, enhance decision-making, and support autonomous operations, leveraging reusable assets and IBM’s transformation methodologies. Clients can deploy these agents directly on Google Cloud, combining IBM’s domain expertise with Google’s governance controls and safety features.
3. Deployment and Modernization Services
The practice provides end-to-end services including hybrid cloud modernization, cybersecurity operations, and data management integration. IBM consultants will help clients migrate legacy systems, integrate Red Hat OpenShift directly in the Google Cloud Console, and embed watsonx orchestration with Gemini for advanced automation. The unit also focuses on operational resilience, using IBM automation tools alongside HashiCorp and Apptio to ensure performance monitoring, compliance and secure governance of AI deployments.
