IBM has obtained FedRAMP authorization for 11 AI and automation software solutions within a single year, marking a four-fold increase in its government portfolio. The newly approved offerings span six watsonx products and five automation and monitoring tools, enabling compliant delivery on AWS GovCloud (U.S.).

The achievement stems from IBM’s strategic collaboration agreement with AWS, which includes joint investment to accelerate AI and automation deliveries for U.S. federal agencies. All solutions are deployed exclusively on AWS GovCloud (U.S.), allowing agencies to access advanced capabilities without managing underlying infrastructure while meeting strict compliance requirements.

By expanding its FedRAMP-certified services, IBM positions itself to capture increased federal spending on secure AI and hybrid-cloud technologies. The authorization supports IBM’s broader strategy in the U.S. federal market, reinforcing its century-long partnership with government bodies and showcasing its commitment to mission-ready, scalable solutions.

Authorized watsonx offerings include watsonx.ai for enterprise-ready foundation models, watsonx.governance for lifecycle risk management and watsonx.data for hybrid cloud data lakehouse services, alongside tools like Turbonomic for resource optimization and Maximo Application Suite for asset lifecycle management.
