Surface sampling at Diamond Creek shows heavy rare earths
Idaho Strategic Resources flagged heavy rare earth mineralization, including yttrium, from surface sampling at its Diamond Creek project in Idaho.
Results averaged about 1.8% total rare earth oxides (TREO); heavy rare earth oxides averaged above 2,000 ppm, including more than 1,300 ppm yttrium.
At the Lucky Gem prospect, a 32-meter trench averaged 1.5% TREO; drillhole DC 22-8 cut 11 meters at 1.5% TREO.
Yttrium concentrations frequently ran 800-2,000 ppm; mineralogy work to date indicates xenotime as the main yttrium-bearing mineral.
