IDT’s NRS Reports 3.4% June Sales Growth, $2.3B Transactions
IDT•IDT’s NRS POS network saw June same-store sales rise 3.4% year-over-year, down from a 4.0% gain in May, while units sold fell 1.5% and baskets per store decreased 0.4%. The platform processed $2.3 billion across 151 million transactions through about 40,000 terminals nationwide.
1. June Same-Store Sales Performance
NRS reported June same-store sales increased by 3.4% year-over-year, down from a 4.0% gain in May, and declined 0.6% month-over-month. Units sold fell 1.5% year-over-year and baskets per store decreased 0.4%, reflecting softer unit demand despite sales growth.
2. Transaction Volume and Network Scale
The NRS POS platform processed $2.3 billion in sales across 151 million transactions during June through approximately 40,000 active terminals at 34,500 independent retailers. The network covers convenience stores, bodegas, liquor outlets, grocers and tobacco sellers in all 50 states and select Canadian markets.
3. Category and Regional Trends
Inflation eased to a 1.3% year-over-year rise in average prices for the top 500 items, down from 2.3% in May. Hydration and non-alcoholic beverage categories led gains, while Northeast and Upper Midwest metros, plus the Raleigh-Durham area, outperformed the South and Southeast regions.
