IGI launches Cipher cyber treaty reinsurance MGA in Bermuda

International General Insurance launched Cipher Underwriting, a Bermuda-based specialty treaty reinsurance MGA focused on cyber.

IGI took a 60% stake via IGI Managing Agencies, expanding into cyber treaty reinsurance as part of specialty reinsurance growth.

Cipher will be led by Ari Chatterjee, a reinsurance specialist with more than 20 years’ industry experience, including cyber reinsurance.

Operations are subject to regulatory approvals, including registration and licensing by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
