IMAX to Screen Five Live 2026 F1 Grands Prix at 50 US Locations
IMAX will broadcast five 2026 FIA Formula One Grands Prix live across at least 50 U.S. locations through a collaboration with Apple TV. The races in Miami, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza and Austin will debut on IMAX screens as part of Apple TV’s inaugural U.S. F1 broadcast season.
1. Collaboration with Apple TV
IMAX has partnered with Apple TV to bring live coverage of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship to theaters across the U.S., marking the first time F1 races will be shown live on IMAX screens. Under the agreement, five marquee Grands Prix—Miami, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza and Austin—will be streamed in high-resolution immersive format.
2. Scheduled Races and Venues
The live schedule spans Miami Grand Prix on May 3, Monaco on June 7, British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 5, Italian Grand Prix at Monza on September 6, and the United States Grand Prix in Austin on October 25. At least 50 IMAX locations nationwide will present the races, with specific theaters and ticket availability announced this spring.
3. Strategic Implications for IMAX
This collaboration broadens IMAX’s content offerings beyond theatrical releases, leveraging its proprietary projection technology to capture sports audiences and boost foot traffic. The initiative could drive ancillary revenue through ticket sales, concessions and premium event pricing while reinforcing IMAX’s position in immersive live-event entertainment.
