1. India Enforces Telegram Delisting on Google Play
India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invoked Section 69A of the Information Technology Act to direct Google Play to delist Telegram until June 22, cutting off access for an estimated 104–150 million users and mandating disabling of its message-editing feature until June 30 to curb exam leak channels before the NEET-UG re-exam.
2. UK CMA Imposes Search Conduct Requirements
The Competition and Markets Authority set out two conduct requirements for Google Search in the UK: enhancing transparency and fairness in how search results are ranked, and enabling users to transfer their search data to authorised third parties, aiming to foster competition and improve user control over data.
