Industrial tech firm Acuity Q4 profit beats on intelligent spaces segment growth
AYI•Acuity’s preliminary fiscal fourth-quarter net sales rose 3% to $1.24 billion, in line with analyst expectations, while adjusted EPS increased 11% to $5.77, beating the $5.56 estimate. The company received $44.9 million in tariff refunds and recorded $17.8 million in special charges.
1. Intelligent spaces growth
Acuity Intelligent Spaces segment net sales rose 16.6% and adjusted operating profit increased 35.7% from a year earlier. Acuity Brands Lighting segment net sales fell 0.4%, while adjusted operating profit declined 7.1%.
2. Quarterly results
Adjusted operating profit was $232.9 million, above the $215.62 million analyst estimate. Net income was $173 million, and reported EPS was $5.63. Special charges were mostly related to product portfolio, supply chain and operating footprint initiatives in the lighting segment.
3. Outlook
Acuity did not provide specific guidance for the current quarter or fiscal 2027.
