Insight Guru said France needs about €70 billion in annual fiscal adjustment to stabilize its debt, while the 2027 budget targets €54 billion. Its analysis said debt is growing about 4.5% as income grows about 2.5%, and French 10-year borrowing costs reached 4.8%, above Italy’s 4.5% and Spain’s 4.1%. The study said France is unlikely to face near-term default, but projected interest costs to climb toward Italy’s 2024 level around 2030 as older debt refinances at higher rates.
