Intel CEO says Chinese frontier AI model adoption has been 'very fast'
INTC•Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan said Chinese frontier AI models have lower token costs and adoption has been “very fast.” He also said quantum computing could become mainstream in the next three to five years.
1. AI model adoption
At a panel organised by DBS, Tan said Chinese models such as DeepSeek, Kimi and GLM are “good enough.” He said he believes open source is the best way to drive efficiency and that markets will determine which models benefit different use cases most.

Tan said quantum computing could become mainstream in the next three to five years. He added that software will help drive efficient use of some of the required infrastructure.
