Biogen plans Phase 3 development after Phase 2 CELIA data
Ionis partner Biogen plans to advance tau-targeting antisense drug diranersen into Phase 3 development for early Alzheimer’s disease.
Phase 2 CELIA showed 50%-65% mean reductions in CSF total tau across doses, and a tau PET substudy showed decreases across regions.
At 18 months, the 60 mg every-six-month regimen showed a 26% slowing on CDR-SB versus placebo; the study missed its primary endpoint.
