Iran's Revolutionary Guards call Trump a 'big liar'
USO•An Iranian Revolutionary Guards spokesperson called U.S. President Donald Trump a “big liar,” accusing him of concealing the truth about Iran's nuclear program and its leverage over Gulf energy supplies. Oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz are set to reach almost 10 million barrels per day in September, about half the pre-war volume.
1. Guards challenge Trump
Spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi accused Trump of misrepresenting Iran's nuclear program and said the United States wants to destroy the program because of its scale, not because Iran seeks nuclear weapons. Trump has cited preventing Iran from building a nuclear weapon as a reason for waging war on Iran.
2. Hormuz oil exports
Mohebbi disputed U.S. assertions that Iran has lost most of its leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, arguing that the passage of a small number of tankers does not mean the strait is open. Kpler data showed oil exports through the strait were set to reach almost 10 million barrels per day in September, about half the pre-war volume.
