Ivanhoe Electric released a 2026 preliminary feasibility study for its Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona, forecasting first cathode production in 2029.
- The study models initial capital of USD 1.43 billion with life-of-mine C1 cash costs of USD 1.47/lb copper.
- At COMEX copper of USD 6.79/lb, after-tax NPV at 8% totals USD 3.5 billion with a 30% IRR.
- Under the base-case copper price of USD 4.75/lb, after-tax NPV at 8% is USD 1.52 billion with an 18.7% IRR.
- The mine plan targets 75,000 tonnes average annual copper output for the first 15 years using a Robbins tunnel boring machine decline.
