J-Star Holding Secures $100M for 100MWh Automated Baytown Solid-State Battery Facility

YMATYMAT

J-Star Holding signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Singapore-based White Group to secure $100 million for its planned 100 MWh automated solid-state battery facility in Baytown, Texas. The financing complements its PSSB partnership and U.S. Department of Energy grant bid to target high-density batteries for UAV and drone applications.

1. Memorandum of Understanding with White Group

J-Star Holding entered into a non-binding MOU with Singapore-based White Group to identify and introduce U.S.-based private equity partners for a proposed $100 million investment. The funds will support construction, automation and technical development for the Baytown, Texas solid-state battery production facility.

2. Baytown Facility Development

The Baytown site, secured through a commitment from the Baytown Economic Development Foundation in the TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park, is planned as a fully automated 100 MWh modular production line. The project builds on a jointly submitted U.S. Department of Energy grant application and will supply high-density batteries for aerospace, defense and drone applications.

3. Strategic Partnerships and Market Focus

This financing round follows J-Star’s strategic partnership with Patriot Green Energy Technology Co. (PSSB) to develop Made-in-USA polymer-based solid-state batteries. Combined Taiwanese technology and U.S. manufacturing aim to establish a secure domestic supply chain for next-generation energy storage in UAV and advanced mobility markets.
