Jabil’s Shares Rally 16.7% Since Last Earnings, Sustainability Questioned
Jabil shares have climbed 16.7% since the company reported its last quarterly results 30 days ago, reflecting strong post-earnings investor sentiment. Market observers are questioning whether this momentum can persist without additional catalysts.
1. Stock Performance Since Last Earnings Report
Over the 30 trading days following Jabil’s quarterly release on December 15, the shares have climbed 16.7%, marking one of the strongest one-month gains in the company’s history. This performance includes a five-day streak of daily advances this week, during which the stock added approximately 6.2% in total. Trading volume over the past month averaged 3.4 million shares per day, 15% above its 90-day average, indicating unusually robust investor interest in the wake of the firm’s latest financials.
2. Analyst Upgrade and Price Target Revision
Goldman Sachs raised its rating on Jabil from Neutral to Buy on January 12, bumping its 12-month price target to $95 from $85. The upgrade reflects Goldman’s expectation of 8% annual revenue growth over the next two years, driven by higher margins in the electronics manufacturing services segment. Following Goldman’s move, two other brokerages—KeyBanc and UBS—also increased their targets to $92 and $90 respectively, bringing the consensus price target to $92.50, a 20% premium to current levels.
3. Automotive Solutions Fuelling Future Profits
Jabil’s advanced automotive division reported revenue of $1.2 billion in the fiscal second quarter, up 12% year-over-year, as demand for ADAS modules, EV powertrain components and in-vehicle connectivity systems surged. Management expects this segment to contribute over 25% of total revenue by fiscal 2027, compared with 18% in 2025. A recently secured $150 million contract with a leading European EV maker for smart cockpit assemblies is scheduled to begin volume shipments in Q3 2026, underpinning the company’s target of $2.5 billion in automotive revenue by the end of its 2027 fiscal year.
