J•Jacobs wins mandate for MESH consenting work
Jacobs won a mandate from EnergyPathways to run consenting and regulatory work for the UK’s MESH Energy Storage Hub.
The scope covers planning strategy for a Development Consent Order under the UK’s nationally significant infrastructure process.
The project targets 300 MW and 55 GWh of ultra-long-duration storage in the Irish Sea, with onshore links into Barrow-in-Furness.
EnergyPathways aims for operations by 2031, subject to consents and financing.
The work also supports an Ofgem cap-and-floor submission, stakeholder engagement, and grid-connection permitting.
