Jaguar Uranium Kicks Off 27,700-Hectare Huemul Exploration with US Funding Prospects

JAGUJAGU

Jaguar Uranium begins initial exploration at its 27,700-hectare Huemul uranium-copper-vanadium district in Mendoza Province, leveraging historic production of 130,000 tonnes at grades of 0.21% uranium, 2.0% copper and 0.11% vanadium. Company secured a collaboration agreement with Mendoza authorities and could access US financing under the new US-Argentina critical minerals framework.

1. Exploration Plan Initiation

Jaguar Uranium has formally launched its initial exploration program at the Huemul Project, a 27,700-hectare uranium-copper-vanadium district in Mendoza Province. The two-phase program will begin with environmental baseline study submission expected in early May, followed by data verification and district-scale prospecting.

2. Historic Production and Grades

The project centers on the historic Huemul mine, which processed approximately 130,000 tonnes of ore between 1955 and 1975, with head grades of 0.21% uranium, 2.0% copper and 0.11% vanadium. Multiple additional targets across the claim package have never been tested with modern exploration techniques.

3. US-Argentina Critical Minerals Framework

Jaguar’s Huemul Project aligns with the US-Argentina Framework Instrument for Securing Critical Minerals Supply, signed in February 2026. The agreement could enable the company to pursue financing from US government institutions such as EXIM Bank and the International Development Finance Corporation.

4. Mendoza Province Collaboration

On March 4, 2026, Jaguar entered a Collaboration Agreement with Mendoza Province’s Ministry of Energy and Environment. This one-year renewable partnership provides technical assistance, structured data exchange and coordination of environmental and community practices for exploration activities.
