Japan health ministry approves Novocure Optune Pax for pancreatic cancer
NVCR•Japan’s health ministry approved Novocure’s Optune Pax for unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer, to be used with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel.
1. Japan approval
Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare cleared Optune Pax for unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer, for use with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel. The decision relied on Phase 3 PANOVA-3 results showing a statistically significant median overall survival gain versus chemotherapy alone.
2. Other authorizations
Optune Pax received FDA authorization in February 2026 and a CE mark in June 2026.
