2. AI and bond concerns weigh
U.S. equity indexes fell overnight after a Financial Times report said OpenAI's annualized revenue was $20 billion below what the company had previously signaled. SoftBank Group, a major OpenAI investor and Nikkei heavyweight, fell about 4%. Elevated global borrowing costs, intensified by surging oil prices, also weighed on sentiment.
3. Shares move on company news
Rorze rose by its daily limit of 700 yen, or 15.79%, after raising its earnings forecasts on surging demand for semiconductor equipment. The Nikkei had closed above 70,000 on Tuesday, its highest close since June 25, before losing momentum.
