Joby Aviation entered a definitive agreement to acquire defense technology company Resonant Sciences, based in Dayton, Ohio.
Resonant will keep its name post-closing, led by co-founder and CEO Micah North, becoming Joby’s dedicated defense business.
The deal aims to combine Joby’s aircraft, propulsion and autonomy capabilities with Resonant’s classified infrastructure, production operations and defense customer relationships.
The combined footprint in the Dayton region is expected to reach about 1 million square feet of manufacturing, integration and testing space.
