JPMorgan Chase will open 160 new branches across more than 30 US states in 2026 and refurbish around 600 existing locations as part of a strategy to add over 500 branches, modernize 1,700 sites and recruit 3,500 employees over three years. The bank plans to hire 1,100 staff toward a 10,500-employee Consumer Bank goal and extend services in low- to moderate-income and rural communities across its fastest-growing Northeast, Southeast, Heartland and Southwest regions.

1. Multi-Year Expansion Plan

JPMorgan Chase plans to open 160 new branches in over 30 states and refurbish approximately 600 existing locations in 2026 as part of its three-year initiative to add more than 500 branches, modernize 1,700 sites and recruit 3,500 Consumer Bank employees.

2. Regional and Community Focus

The bank will focus on low- to moderate-income and rural communities across its fastest-growing Northeast, Southeast, Heartland and Southwest regions, leveraging customized branch concepts like the 70-specialist Downtown Flushing location and community centers for events and financial education.

3. Staffing and Specialized Centers

To support this growth, JPMorgan Chase will hire about 1,100 new staff toward a year-end target of 10,500 Consumer Bank employees, expand its J.P. Morgan Financial Centers from 21 to 31 by year-end 2026, and enhance consumer products and digital tools such as Secure Banking and a digital Benefits Hub.
