Kazakhstan Plans $10B AI Data Center Valley with Nvidia GPUs
NVDA•Kazakhstan has struck up to $10 billion in AI computing agreements with Firebird Inc., leveraging Nvidia technology to build a 125-megawatt Data Center Valley in northeast Kazakhstan. The initial $5 billion phase, including $1 billion from state-run Kazakhtelecom, targets 100,000 GB300 and Vera Rubin GPUs with operations slated for 2027.
1. Deal Overview
Kazakhstan signed strategic cooperation agreements with Firebird Inc. to develop nationwide AI computing projects backed by Nvidia technology, targeting up to $10 billion in investment. The deal encompasses the Data Center Valley initiative in northeast Kazakhstan.
2. Phase One Details
The first phase allocates $5 billion, including a $1 billion contribution from state-run Kazakhtelecom, to build a 125-megawatt facility with commercial operations expected by 2027.
3. GPU Deployment
The computing cluster will deploy approximately 100,000 next-generation Nvidia GPUs, including GB300 and Vera Rubin models, with Firebird’s subsidiary handling financing and infrastructure procurement.
4. Strategic Implications
Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev said the project could generate at least $3 billion in annual exports, create jobs, and attract global tech firms, positioning Kazakhstan as a Eurasian AI hub and signaling expanding demand for Nvidia’s AI infrastructure.
