Keysight integrates GlobalFoundries silicon photonics PDK in ADS Photonic Designer
KEYS•Keysight Technologies added GlobalFoundries’ physics-based silicon photonics PDK to its ADS Photonic Designer, enabling immediate PIC design and full electro-optical-electrical system validation. The integration offers early optical link performance analysis, including TDECQ metrics, reducing design iterations for AI, data center, and optical communications applications.
1. Keysight Adds GlobalFoundries Silicon Photonics PDK
Keysight Technologies enabled support for GlobalFoundries’ silicon photonics process in its ADS Photonic Designer by integrating a foundry-aligned PDK, allowing engineers to start device-level PIC design immediately without building component libraries from scratch.
2. End-to-End Electro-Optical-Electrical Simulation
The integration connects PIC design with system-level electro-optical-electrical simulation in a single environment, enabling early validation of optical link performance metrics such as eye diagrams and transmission dispersion eye closure quaternary (TDECQ) without switching tools.
3. Impact on High-Speed Optical Interconnect Market
By reducing design iterations and risk, the combined workflow accelerates development of optical transceivers and co-packaged optics for AI infrastructure, data centers and high-speed communications, potentially driving adoption of Keysight’s design and test solutions.
