Kodiak AI received a California DMV permit under the expanded Autonomous Vehicle Tester program to test autonomous heavy-duty trucks.
The permit, granted Aug. 13, allows drivered testing with a human safety driver on public roads.
The authorization is the first step in California’s phased process toward driver-out testing and deployment.
