Kosmos Energy secured 14-year extensions on its Ghana Jubilee and TEN licenses to 2040 and agreed to acquire an FPSO vessel for $205 million gross (∼$40 million net). Recent Mauritania-Senegal LNG output averaged 2.9 mtpa versus a 2.7 mtpa nameplate and shares jumped 14.1% on strong technical signals.

Ghana’s parliament ratified 14-year extensions for the West Cape Three Points and Deepwater Tano petroleum agreements covering the Jubilee and TEN fields, extending operations to 2040. In parallel, Kosmos signed a deal to acquire a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for $205 million gross, with roughly $40 million net investment, bolstering project infrastructure.
2. Robust LNG Output at GTA Project
In January the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) LNG joint venture shipped 3.5 gross cargos, achieving average production of 2.9 million tonnes per annum, above its 2.7 mtpa nameplate capacity. This over-performance highlights improved operational efficiency and potential for enhanced cash generation.

Shares climbed 14.12% in regular trading as Kosmos outperformed the energy sector downturn. The stock is trading 35.4% above its 20-day SMA, 68.8% above its 50-day SMA and 53.6% above its 100-day SMA, with an RSI of 61.71 and a MACD line 13.52 cents above its signal line.
