Kratos to Build Hypersonic Arc-Jet and Laser Test Facility in Odon, Indiana
Kratos Defense selected Odon, Indiana to host its new mid-tier coupled arc-jet and laser facility under Project Helios, filling gaps in U.S. hypersonic test infrastructure. The facility’s high-throughput aerothermal testing capability is designed to accelerate transition of hypersonic materials into operational systems for all U.S. Armed Forces.

Kratos conducted an extensive multi-state review and selected Odon, Indiana to host its new mid-tier coupled arc-jet and laser facility under Project Helios, citing the site’s ability to meet stringent technical, operational and utility requirements by local partners.

Designed for high-throughput aerothermal testing, the Odon facility will fill critical gaps in U.S. hypersonic materials evaluation by enabling accelerated transition from laboratory tests to fielded systems, supporting all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
