Kremlin says Russia restarts diesel exports after deal with Trump
USO•Russia resumed diesel exports after a deal with US President Donald Trump, with a tanker carrying about 40,000 metric tons loaded at Primorsk on October 13. Trump said Russia would supply more than 300,000 metric tons immediately, followed by 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons afterward.
1. Exports resume
The Kremlin said Russian diesel had begun reaching global markets after an agreement with the United States. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the supplies were expected to help stabilise oil markets, but would not be enough to fully stabilise them. Shipping data showed a tanker carrying around 40,000 metric tons of ultra-low sulphur diesel was loaded at the Baltic port of Primorsk on October 13 and was heading to Morocco.
2. Planned supplies
Trump said Russia would immediately supply more than 300,000 metric tons of diesel to US and global markets, then provide another 500,000 tons in November and a further 1 million tons afterward. The initial amount is less than a day's US transport-sector use, estimated at around 2.94 million barrels. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, European officials and some Republican politicians criticised the deal.
