Kroger Launches 2,700-Store Uber Delivery Service with 50% Off Launch
Kroger has launched nearly 2,700 stores on Uber Eats, Uber and Postmates nationwide, offering fresh groceries, Our Brands products and essentials with same-day delivery. To promote adoption, Uber is offering up to 50% off first orders and Uber One members receive $0 delivery fees on eligible orders.
1. Kroger Health Surpasses 250,000 Student Completions in Drug Safety Curriculum
Kroger Health announced it has supported over 250,000 high school and middle school students in completing its free Prescription Drug Safety: Know the truth program, delivered in partnership with Everfi since 2018. Participation grew from roughly 700 students in the 2017–18 academic year to nearly 65,000 in 2024–25, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of more than 80%. Pre- and post-assessment data indicate a marked increase in students’ ability to identify warning signs of misuse and to support peers facing prescription drug challenges. Colleen Lindholz, president of Kroger Health, emphasized that equipping youth with accurate information on safe use, storage and disposal of medications is central to building community resilience and reducing adolescent prescription drug misuse.
2. Kroger Expands On-Demand Grocery Delivery via Uber Platforms
The Kroger Co. launched nearly 2,700 of its Family of Companies stores on Uber Eats, Uber and Postmates apps, enabling same-day delivery of fresh groceries, household essentials and Kroger’s Our Brands portfolio. Participating banners include Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Smith’s, Fry’s and Harris Teeter, extending Kroger’s digital footprint into 35 states. To drive trial, first-order discounts of up to 50% are available, while Uber One members benefit from zero delivery fees on eligible orders. Jody Kalmbach, vice president of Kroger’s Digital Experience and eCommerce group, stated that the integration addresses evolving consumer preferences for convenience and flexibility, and positions Kroger to capture a larger share of the growing on-demand grocery market.
