Kroger completed the undisclosed‐terms sale of Vitacost.com, its 40,000‐product online health retailer, to iHerb Holdings, refocusing on core grocery operations. Its new Yearly Checkout feature showed customers saved billions and Kroger directed 518 million meals to communities through its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste program.

1. Customers Achieve Record Savings in 2025

In 2025 Kroger customers collectively saved more than $3.2 billion through a combination of everyday low prices, weekly promotions and fuel point redemptions. The newly introduced Yearly Checkout feature on the Kroger app and Kroger.com enabled 11 million loyalty members to view a personalized summary of their household’s savings, total grocery trips and most-purchased items. By logging in from January 1 through February 28, shoppers accessed detailed monthly breakdowns showing peak savings during seasonal events such as summer grilling and holiday baking.

2. Our Brands Earn Top Industry Honors

Kroger’s private-label portfolio continued to outperform national competitors in 2025, capturing major awards across multiple categories. Kroger Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips was featured in SELF’s 2025 Pantry Awards for its distinctive flavor profile. The Limited Edition Chili Cheese Bratwurst was recognized by Simply Recipes as a top refrigerated staple. Meanwhile, the Scramble Creamy Chorizo Breakfast Bowl won Allrecipes’ Golden Cart Award for Best On-the-Go Breakfast. These accolades reinforced Kroger’s commitment to delivering premium quality at value prices under its Our Brands banner.

3. Advancing Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Impact

Under its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste plan, Kroger directed 518 million meals to food-insecure communities in 2025, bringing the program’s cumulative impact to 3.9 billion meals since its 2017 launch. Key initiatives included partnerships with local food banks in 35 metropolitan markets and expansion of in-store food rescue operations at 2,100 stores nationwide. Kroger also achieved a 12 percent reduction in operational food waste year-over-year by deploying advanced inventory forecasting and optimized logistics.

4. Driving Loyalty Through Data-Powered Insights

The Yearly Checkout rollout exemplified Kroger’s investment in data analytics and digital engagement. Analytics from the feature revealed that customers who reviewed their annual savings increased their monthly visit frequency by 7 percent and average basket size by 4 percent. Kroger plans to leverage these insights to tailor personalized promotions and refine its assortment strategy across 2,800 stores. The company’s digital sales now account for 11 percent of total revenue, reflecting sustained growth in e-commerce adoption.
