L.B. Foster will promote William Thalman to Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer, Sean Reilly to Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer, and T.J. Curran to Controller and Principal Accounting Officer effective June 1, 2026. The board cited their finance and operations expertise to boost performance and shareholder return.

On May 21, L.B. Foster’s board approved the promotion of three key executives, effective June 1, 2026. William M. Thalman moves from Executive VP and CFO to Executive VP and COO, Sean M. Reilly advances from Controller to Senior VP and CFO, and T.J. Curran assumes the roles of Controller and Principal Accounting Officer.
2. Appointees’ Professional Backgrounds
Thalman has served as EVP and CFO since June 2023 and held senior finance and operations leadership roles at Kennametal and Wesco dating back to 2002. Reilly led finance for Kennametal’s $1 billion metal cutting division before becoming L.B. Foster’s Controller in January 2022. Curran has overseen global tax, treasury and compliance since joining in 2013 and brings a decade of M&A tax advisory experience from KPMG.
3. Board’s Strategic Rationale
Chairman Raymond Betler highlighted that these promotions will strengthen the executive team, drive strategic execution, and enhance stockholder return. The board believes the combined industry, finance and operational expertise of Thalman, Reilly and Curran will accelerate performance improvements and support long-term growth objectives.
