Lepu Biopharma's CMG901 improves overall survival in Phase III gastroesophageal cancer trial
AZN•Phase III results showed CMG901 improved overall survival in previously treated advanced CLDN18.2-positive gastroesophageal cancer, but it did not meet the statistical significance threshold for progression-free survival. The treatment's safety profile was manageable.
1. CMG901 trial results
Lepu Biopharma presented Phase III results for CMG901 at ESMO 2026. The trial showed improved overall survival in previously treated advanced CLDN18.2-positive gastroesophageal cancer, while progression-free survival did not meet the statistical significance threshold; the safety profile was manageable. AstraZeneca owns CMG901 and licensed global development and commercialization rights in February 2023.
2. Other study findings
Results presented for MRG007 showed preliminary antitumor activity in advanced colorectal cancer, supporting ongoing dose optimization, with a manageable safety profile. Interim Phase II findings for MRG003 showed encouraging safety in locally advanced head and neck cancer, while tumor response data remained preliminary.
