1. Refinery reopened
Libya’s National Oil Corporation said it reopened the Brega refinery after it was closed for maintenance. The refinery has capacity of 10,000 barrels per day and has suffered recurring technical issues because of its age, a Libyan audit bureau report said in June.
2. Gas and methanol units
The NOC said a natural gas processing unit at the Brega plant has restarted, allowing 60 million cubic feet of gas to be transferred into the system instead of being flared. It also announced the resumption of two Sirte Oil Company methanol plants that had been shut down for maintenance.
