Life Time Sells Out 1,700 Slots at 13,185-Foot Leadville Marathon, Kicks Off Race Series
LTH•Life Time’s sold-out Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Half drew 1,700 runners from 44 states and seven countries to summit the 13,185-foot Mosquito Pass. The event opened the five-weekend 2026 Leadville Race Series, featuring trail runs, mountain biking and the season-long Lead Challenge culminating in 100-mile MTB and run races.
1. Event Draws 1,700 Runners
Life Time’s Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Half sold out with nearly 1,700 participants from 44 states and seven countries, ages 14 to 80. Marathon runners conquered over 6,000 feet of elevation gain, while Heavy Half athletes covered 15.4 miles with more than 3,400 feet of climbing to reach the 13,185-foot Mosquito Pass summit.
2. Series Structure and Lead Challenge
This event kicked off the five-weekend 2026 Leadville Race Series, featuring trail running and mountain biking competitions including the Silver Rush 50 and Leadville Stage Race. Among participants are 119 Lead Challenge contenders who must complete all five series events—culminating with the 100-mile MTB and 100-mile run—to earn the coveted Lead Challenge buckle.
