Lockheed Martin broke ground on an 87,000 sq ft munitions center in Troy, Alabama, as part of a $9 billion expansion through 2030 to support THAAD and Next Generation Interceptor production. It will nearly double production space and create dozens of American jobs over three years, strengthening domestic defense capacity.

Lockheed Martin initiated construction on an 87,000 square-foot Munitions Production Center at its Troy, Alabama campus to expand domestic missile manufacturing capabilities.

2. Investment and Capacity Expansion

This project is part of a more than $9 billion commitment through 2030 and will support accelerated production of THAAD interceptors and Next Generation Interceptor systems, nearly doubling the site’s output space.

The expansion is projected to generate dozens of new American jobs over the next three years, adding to the nearly 4,000 Lockheed Martin employees already working in Alabama.
