Lockheed Martin won an AUD 1.32 billion Australian government contract to advance and sustain AIR6500 under Tranche 2B.
Work targets upgrades to the joint air battle management system’s core architecture, communications, cyber security, sensor tracking and targeting integration.
The program includes sustaining a 360-person local engineering workforce, scaling to more than 400 within 18 months.
Delivery is expected to lean heavily on Australian industry partners over the next six years.
