Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky signed an exploratory teaming agreement with Safran Helicopter Engines at the Farnborough Airshow.
The partnership targets power and propulsion solutions for existing and next-generation vertical lift aircraft across commercial and defense markets.
The companies aim to shorten design cycles, speed proposals, and deliver higher-performance rotorcraft propulsion offerings.
The collaboration extends a 40-year relationship supporting the S-76 program, with more than 1,230 Safran engines delivered.
Work will also assess opportunities tied to new rotorcraft platforms and unmanned aerial systems.
