Lucid Doubles Output to 18,378 Units in 2025 and Begins Robotaxi On-Road Testing
Lucid produced 18,378 vehicles in 2025, up 104% year-over-year, and delivered 15,841 units, a 55% increase. Gravity SUV landed MotorTrend’s 2026 Best Public Charging Experience award for its ultra-fast charging, and Lucid began on-road testing of its autonomous robotaxi in San Francisco Bay Area.
1. Lucid Gravity Wins Best Public Charging Experience
Lucid Group’s new Gravity SUV was honored with MotorTrend’s 2026 Best Tech Award for Best Public Charging Experience, based on a comprehensive protocol of rigorous testing and expert evaluations. The citation noted Lucid’s high-efficiency powertrain, ultra-fast charging battery system and native NACS compatibility, which together enable seamless Plug & Charge access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers and thousands of Electrify America DC fast-charging stations. Independently measured data show that the Grand Touring trim’s 123 kWh battery can add 200 miles of range in under 11 minutes on a 400 kW charger, while the Touring trim’s 89 kWh pack achieves the same in 15 minutes on a 350 kW charger. Lucid’s proprietary Range Spider Route Planner, integrated into the vehicle’s digital cockpit, provides real-world range estimates and identifies all reachable public charging points along the route.
2. Record 2025 Production and Delivery Growth
Lucid more than doubled production in 2025, manufacturing 18,378 vehicles—a 104% increase over 2024—and delivered 15,841 units, up 55% year-over-year. In the fourth quarter alone, production climbed 116% quarter-over-quarter to 8,412 vehicles, while deliveries grew 31% to 5,345 units. This stronger output was driven by the ramp of the Gravity SUV alongside the Lucid Air sedan. Lucid achieved its revised annual target of roughly 18,000 units despite ongoing supply-chain shortages and quality refinements on the Gravity platform. The company will report full financials for Q4 2025 on February 24, 2026, after markets close.
3. Lucid Advances Robotaxi Program with Nuro and Uber
At CES 2026, Lucid showcased its production-intent Gravity-based robotaxi developed in partnership with Nuro and Uber. Autonomous on-road testing began in December under Nuro’s supervision in the San Francisco Bay Area, marking a key milestone toward the service launch later in 2026. The vehicle features a next-gen sensor suite—high-resolution cameras, solid-state lidar and radar—integrated into Lucid’s chassis and a low-profile halo roof module. In-cabin innovations include interactive touchscreens for climate, seating and media controls, plus real-time visualization of the vehicle’s detection and planned path. Uber will leverage its ride-hailing network for deployment, while Lucid’s engineering ensures industry-leading range and interior comfort for up to six passengers.
