Lucid produced 18,378 vehicles in 2025, up 104% year-over-year, and delivered 15,841 units, a 55% increase over 2024. Fourth-quarter production rose 116% to 8,412 vehicles and deliveries climbed 31% to 5,345, meeting the company’s lowered annual target of ~18,000 units.

1. Lucid Unveils Production-Intent Robotaxi with Nuro and Uber at CES 2026

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Lucid Group partnered with Nuro and Uber to reveal the production-intent version of the Lucid Gravity robotaxi. The vehicle features a next-generation sensor suite—high-resolution cameras, solid-state lidar sensors and radar units—integrated into the body and a purpose-built roof-mounted halo module. Halo-mounted LEDs display rider initials and vehicle status throughout each trip, while an in-cab interface offers heated seats, climate controls, multimedia, support access and a pull-over request button. In-vehicle visualization screens show the vehicle’s real-time perception and planned path, including pedestrian yields, traffic-light responses and lane changes.

2. Autonomous On-Road Testing Begins in San Francisco Bay Area

In December 2025, Nuro commenced supervised on-road testing of robotaxi engineering prototypes in the Bay Area, marking the first live validation phase ahead of the planned service launch later in 2026. Tests are conducted with autonomous vehicle operators on board to monitor dozens of critical capabilities—ranging from object detection and path planning to end-to-end AI foundation models that blend deep learning with verifiable safety logic. Closed-course testing and high-fidelity simulation complement the on-road program, enabling performance validation across rare and complex driving scenarios.

3. Strong Production and Delivery Growth Sets Stage for Mid-Size EV Platform

Lucid reported full-year 2025 production of 18,378 vehicles, a 104% increase over 2024, and deliveries of 15,841 units, up 55% year-over-year. In the fourth quarter alone, the company produced 8,412 vehicles (116% sequential growth) and delivered 5,345 cars (31% sequential growth). These figures reflect successful ramp-up of the Gravity SUV and improved manufacturing throughput at the Arizona facility. Pending final validation, Lucid plans to commence production of its mid-size EV platform later in 2026, targeting a sub-$50,000 price point to compete in the mainstream SUV segment.

4. Strategic Implications for Investors

Lucid’s combination of advanced EV architecture, rapid production scale-up and entry into autonomous mobility positions the company at the intersection of two high-growth markets. Investors will monitor progress of robotaxi validation in the Bay Area, the timing of service launch, the start of mid-size platform production and continued delivery execution. Key catalysts include regulatory approvals for level 4 operations, third-party partnerships to expand geographic reach and improvements in gross margin as volumes increase and production efficiencies mature.
