Staged delivery and upgrade path through 2029
Delivery is staged, starting in 2027 with an IQM Halocene H4 system with 150 physical qubits, followed by upgrades in 2028 and a Halocene H5 installation in 2029.
The final configuration targets real-time error correction with up to 9 logical qubits using distance-3 surface and color codes.
LUMI AI Factory orders upgradeable quantum computer from IQM
IQM Quantum Computers Oyj won an order from the LUMI AI Factory to supply an upgradeable superconducting quantum computer designed to deliver logical qubits.
The system, branded LUMI-IQ, will be installed at CSC’s data center in Kajaani, Finland, as part of a hybrid HPC, AI, and quantum computing platform.
