LyondellBasell cites softer pricing as driver of Q3 2026 O&P-Americas EBITDA decline
LYB•LyondellBasell reported third-quarter 2026 adjusted EBITDA of $1.51 billion, down $615 million sequentially. O&P-Americas adjusted EBITDA declined $626 million, while nine-month adjusted EBITDA was $4.25 billion, compared with $2.13 billion a year earlier.
1. Quarterly EBITDA declines
LyondellBasell’s third-quarter 2026 EBITDA, excluding identified items, fell $615 million sequentially to $1.51 billion. Americas olefins and polyolefins adjusted EBITDA declined $626 million as softer prices squeezed margins amid volatility related to the Middle East conflict.
2. Segment results diverge
Europe, Asia and International adjusted EBITDA fell $318 million, reflecting divestiture-related volume declines, lower polyolefin prices and weaker equity income. Intermediates and Derivatives adjusted EBITDA rose $409 million, driven by stronger gasoline crack spreads and higher volumes following Bayport’s restart.
3. Nine-month comparison
Nine-month 2026 adjusted EBITDA reached $4.25 billion, compared with $2.13 billion, supported by stronger margins amid conflict-driven supply constraints.
