MagnaChip partners with Navitas to license GeneSiC high-voltage silicon carbide technology

MagnaChip entered a strategic partnership with Navitas to accelerate high-voltage silicon carbide adoption in power markets.
The deal licenses Navitas’ GeneSiC trench-assisted planar technology for 1,200 V, 2,300 V and 3,300 V devices, extending to higher voltages.
The agreement includes access to Navitas’ silicon carbide supply chain and materials ecosystem to speed market entry.
The technology is slated to be ported, qualified and internalized at MagnaChip’s South Korea fab.
The collaboration targets energy and grid infrastructure, energy storage, industrial electrification and automotive demand in Korea.
