Mahindra, Embraer eye Nagpur C-390 assembly line for India bid
ERJ•Mahindra and Embraer identified Nagpur as the preferred site for a potential C-390 assembly line, contingent on the aircraft being selected for India’s Medium Transport Aircraft program. Their industrial planning includes local manufacturing and support, but execution depends on a government decision and a subsequent order.
1. Assembly plan remains conditional
Mahindra has deepened cooperation with Embraer to position the C-390 Millennium for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft program, with Nagpur identified as the preferred site for a potential final assembly line. Planning covers local manufacturing, supply-chain development, training, aftermarket support and maintenance, repair and overhaul. The companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement in October 2025, building on a February 2024 memorandum of understanding; execution depends on a Government of India decision and a subsequent order.
