MRVI•TriLink BioTechnologies won a China patent covering CleanCap cap analog compounds used to make 5’-capped RNAs, as well as related RNAs, cells and pharmaceutical products.
The patent covers CleanCap cap analog compounds used to make 5’-capped RNAs, along with RNAs containing the compounds, cells containing those RNAs, drug products and other pharmaceutical compositions. It follows a separate China patent issued months earlier for methods of synthesizing capped RNA.
CleanCap is used in commercially approved COVID-19 mRNA and saRNA vaccines, supporting licensing and supply-chain control in China.
