The company will engage directly in council working groups focused on security and privacy guidelines.

Senior Vice President Claire Le Gal, who leads Integrity and Standards within Mastercard’s Security Solutions unit, will represent the firm on the BSSC board. Her expertise in fraud prevention, cyber resilience, disputes and threat intelligence is expected to guide the council’s security and privacy initiatives.

This membership reinforces a push for unified security standards to address fragmented practices in digital asset ecosystems, potentially accelerating institutional finance participation. Mastercard plans to integrate insights from its Multi-Token Network and Crypto Credential products into council standards to streamline secure blockchain operations.
