Matson will equip international containers from Los Angeles to BNSF destinations in Chicago, Memphis and Dallas with War-Lok devices and load them in lower wells of intermodal cars, extending security through Chicago to Eastern U.S. gateways. These enhanced measures are provided at no additional charge beginning Q2 2026.

1. Program Details

Matson will fit every international container moving from Los Angeles to BNSF network destinations—Chicago, Memphis and Dallas—with War-Lok security devices and place them in lower wells of intermodal rail cars, creating two layers of protection beginning Q2 2026.

2. Coverage Scope

The enhanced security applies from the Los Angeles terminal through the Chicago gateway and onward to BNSF interchanges in select Eastern U.S. markets, covering the majority of Matson’s inland intermodal routes at no extra charge to customers.

3. Strategic Impact

By reducing theft exposure and offering these measures free of charge, Matson aims to improve service reliability, attract new shippers and lower risk-related costs, reinforcing its leadership in expedited Transpacific and domestic intermodal logistics.
