McEwen COO William Shaver plans retirement, names three new vice presidents

COO retirement and leadership changes

McEwen announced the planned retirement of Chief Operating Officer William Shaver, ending a four-year tenure.

Channa Kumarage was promoted to vice president, operations. He previously served as director of technical services and helped bring Froome into production and advanced Stock Mine.

Kevin Bromfield was promoted to vice president, development projects. His background includes mine construction, underground development, ore sorting and shaft sinking.

Zahir Jina was promoted to vice president, permitting, government relations and sustainability. He is an environmental management and permitting specialist with more than 15 years of experience.

Shaver will remain on McEwen Copper’s board. McEwen holds a 46.3% stake in the unit.
