The company generated 85% of its operational energy from renewable sources in 2025 and achieved an 11% reduction in Scope 1 GHG emissions intensity, while piloting Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage to sequester up to 500,000 tonnes of biogenic CO₂ annually.
3. Responsible Sourcing and Certifications
Mercer maintained 100% certification of its managed forests to the SFI Forest Management Standard and sourced all fiber from sustainable, certified sources, ensuring chain of custody compliance across all manufacturing sites.

The company secured 'B' scores on CDP’s Forests, Climate Change and Water Security assessments, joined the International Sustainable Forestry Coalition, and continues integrating sustainability into core business decisions to build long-term resilience.
